IAMFC welcomes and encourages graduate students to enter our organization while still pursuing their studies. IAMFC realizes that it is vitally important to involve graduate students and new professionals in our organization, and others with which we are affiliated, as soon as possible in order to enhance their personal professional development as well as to initiate those who will be the leaders of tomorrow. To that end, IAMFC offers a variety of opportunities for graduate student members. In addition to the benefits realized by professional IAMFC members, student members have a number of other resources, such as the Graduate Student Network.

Graduate Student Network

The IAMFC Graduate Student Task Force has taken on a new format, now the Graduate Student Network, that will work to broaden the number of students involved in creating a strong network of graduate students and new professionals in the field of Marriage and Family Counseling and Therapy. The Graduate Student Network will seek out, and work to involve, graduate students from across the country and internationally.

The involvement of all IAMFC Student Members will help to guide the Graduate Student Network to serve as a powerful resource for a large number of graduate students interested in Marriage and Family Counseling and Therapy.

In keeping with IAMFC's focus on providing leadership opportunities to graduate students, your active participation is encouraged by suggesting the formulation of committees within the Graduate Student Network, seeking to chair those committees, and serving as an active member of the Network. Committee ideas or professional areas that can be explored may be: research topics of doctoral and masters level students, job possibilities after graduation, conference planning, and publishing ideas for The Family Digest.
