Editors
Kaye W. Nelson, Ed.D., is a Professor of Counseling and Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where she is the Program Coordinator of Marriage and Family Counseling. She is the Coordinator of the Counseling and Training Clinic and teaches in the doctoral program in counselor education and supervision. Dr. Nelson has been the recipient of the College of Education Excellence in Teaching Award and a number of college research enhancement grants. She is an approved supervisor with AAMFT and an approved clinical supervisor with NBCC. A Past-President of the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (TAMFT) and a former editor of The Journal of TAMFT, she has received professional services awards from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She formerly served on the editorial board of Counselor Education and Supervision.
Stephen Southern, Ed.D., is Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology at Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi, where he is the Program Coordinator of Community Counseling. In his 30 years of professional experience, he has integrated roles of clinician, supervisor, consultant, administrator, and educator. Dr. Southern taught psychology, counselor education, criminal justice, sociology, and education courses at several institutions including University of Southern Mississippi, University of North Texas, and Temple University. He completed postdoctoral studies at Masters and Johnson Institute and served as clinical consultant with the Masters & Johnson treatment programs for trauma-based disorders. Dr. Southern has been a member of several editorial boards including the Journal of Addictions and Offender Counseling and the Journal of Sex Education & Therapy. He is Chair of the IAMFC Ethics Committee.
